The war propaganda poster has been a matter of scholarly studies from a variety of perspectives, including visual arts, history, war and propaganda studies. Although the purpose of poster varied, generally each design involved the recruitment of men to join the army, encouragement of women to enter the workforce, promotion of war bonds and war loans, saving resources and reducing consumption and increasing productivity and collective efforts.
